Unintentionally Funny, Must-Watch Bollywood Movies: Tum Mile + Aao Wish Karein

This week saw the release of, not one, but three movies which caught my fancy. I had the distinct pleasure of sitting through all three of those virtuoso big-screen performances, in the hopes that at least one of them would be worthy of postage here. Little did I know that the competition would be strong enough to evoke a double entry this week. To be perfectly honest, even the third movie, 2012, could’ve made it to the list. But I figured that to try and follow in India TV’s perfection of “2012 Main Qayamat Ka Din” spoofs would be an exercise in futility. So here’s presenting the webcomic review of the Emraan Hashmi and Aftab Shivdasani starrers Tum Mile & Aao Wish Karein!

Haha, I don’t think you can count ‘Aao Wish Karein.’ After all, the movie ‘BIG’ they were trying to remake was unintentionally disturbing at best. It had a kid who had the mental and emotional maturity of a 12 year old having sex with a grown woman. That’s not creepy or pedophilic at all. Who can blame Aftab for starring in a REALLY bad remake of an originally terrible story. In fact, we should really be pointing fingers at the moronic producers. I mean seriously, who could be desperately stupid enough to throw money at such a pointless venture doomed to failure? AND cast Aftab too boot? Oh. Nevermind.

Ooh! Ooh! AND he’s also written the screenplay! And by “written the screenplay”, I mean cut out the paedophilic sex and the piano foot-tapping part… and kept everything else verbatim from the Tom Hanks original. XD

Ummm yea, I knew he was the producer, I was joking. You know, because only Aftab Shivdasani would throw money into that rubbish. And because only Aftab Shivdasani would hire and pay Aftab Shivdasani despite the actor’s obvious handicap of being Aftab Shivdasani. Erm, I think I should just leave the jokes to you from now on. And I should probably break open my copy of ’sarcasm and the internet’
So they left out the fancy chopin footwork? Well, pity they had to stop there I suppose but thank god for small miracles. Can you imagine how bollywood would dramatize THAT? Now that I think about it, it’s EXACTLY the kind of scene bollywood would make up themselves. Only they wouldn’t just stop there. They’d probably insist on having a giant piano background with about 6 dozen extras dressed like dancing keys while Aftab and the old man go at it like mad in a tuxedo and top hat. I wonder how they could’ve passed up an opportunity like that? Probably spent the money on Johnny Lever’s costume.
Haha! Yes. Internet sarcasm is hard to figure without the requisite use of ‘LOLs’ and smileys, alright! =p
But anyways, that is my theory too! Johnny Lever’s costume budget left no money over for the floor-piano-gazillion-extras-top-hat-gay-looking-Aftab sequence. XD

Have just been informed that the chick doesn’t wish herself younger in ‘Big’. So I guess we can give some credit to Mr. Shivdasani for mixing things up a bit. =)

First time on the site. Loved it!! You make it seem so simple but I am sure this was tough work. Making people laugh and making a point at the same time cannot be easy.
Haven’t seen either movie although Tum Mile promo seemed promising in the theatres. Too bad it was a wash-out (ugh, puns!). Had no hopes from ANY children movie in India, so that was a no-go.
